4.4 Build and SBOM
On this page you confirm the pipeline built the application image and produced an SBOM from what was already inside the trust boundary.
Why this control exists
The image is an application artifact. The SBOM is the inventory that Trusted Profile Analyzer will store. Both come from the same hermetic build, not from a laptop rebuild after the fact.
Learning objectives
-
Locate image build and SBOM steps on Pipeline
lightwell-build-deploy -
Confirm the install PipelineRun
lightwell-build-deployreached Succeeded during prep
Your change
On a prepared hub the chart starts Job lightwell-start-pipeline, which creates PipelineRun lightwell-build-deploy once. You do not start it during the ten-minute walk.
After that run Succeeded, start the stock profile so stage is ready for comparison (prep only):
# Prep only — replace with the hub’s start script or tkn pipeline start.
# PROFILE=stock ./scripts/start-pipeline.sh
oc -n lightwell-demo get pipelinerun
Check
oc -n lightwell-demo get pipelinerun lightwell-build-deploy
# Follow logs only during prep:
# oc -n lightwell-demo logs -l tekton.dev/pipeline=lightwell-build-deploy -f
Expect Succeeded. The image lands in the internal registry. The SBOM is available for the publish step in track 5 and the system of record in track 7.
