2.2 Remediated pin
On this page you replace a vulnerable stock coordinate with an exact remediated pin. The pin uses Lightwell’s .rhlw-* version suffix on the upstream line you already run.
Why this control exists
“Upgrade to latest” is not always available. Certification, compatibility, or a release window can lock you on a line. Lightwell supplies a security-only rebuild on that line. The coordinate is exact. Later pages sign, admit, and report evidence for that pin.
This showroom describes the control. It does not publish the exact library coordinates used on a private demo cluster.
Learning objectives
-
Explain the stock profile versus the
lightwellMaven profile -
Name the
.rhlw-*suffix as the remediated pin shape -
Use the phrase remediations available rather than claiming an empty vulnerability set
Your change
In Dev Spaces, open the application POM.
-
Confirm a default (stock) dependency version on the upstream line.
-
Confirm profile
lightwelloverrides that property to a.rhlw-*coordinate. -
Right-click the POM and open Red Hat Dependency Analytics when the private backend is available.
-
On the stock coordinate, note the known vulnerability the scanner names.
-
On the
.rhlw-*coordinate, note remediations available.
Do not paste the demo GAV into slides, public repos, or this showroom.
Check
# DevWorkspace should be started in namespace lightwell-demo.
oc -n lightwell-demo get devworkspace
# After a Lightwell PipelineRun, the demo application home shows the remediated pin shape.
# Replace APPS with the cluster apps domain.
curl -sk "https://jboss-app-lightwell-demo.${APPS}/" | head
Expect the demo and prod routes to show a .rhlw-* library line, and stage to show the stock line, after both PipelineRuns have Succeeded.
